mmm, mucus.
after 36 days, I killed the LEDs. They were still emitting, but not really usable at that point. the light output was good for about 3 weeks though- getting to about half brightness in that time.
they pull 2.79v, at .95mA.

(30) 18000 mcd 3mm LEDs in parallel, on (2) 2000mah crap rechargeables. about 70lux at 30ish inches.
for over a month.

What were you doing? How were you limiting the current through them? I ask because if you use a modern LED driver you should be able to get a lot more lifetime from them.

nothing but power to breadboard rails, and LEDs tossed in.
I did it as a goof initially, musing that they'd last 3 or 4 days (having measured nothing current wise). I've been spoiled by crappy light sources before, so this was surprising.
I think i need to start ordering batches of 1000, for more projects.

We got a load of replacement 4' and 6' fluorescent tube lights, done with LED's, today. They're spectacularly bright without the diffuser in place, and the assemblers claim they're 20% or so more efficient with the same in-room lumens. I'm trying to build a bike light that has dimmer controls so I can vary the pulse width and also the pulse rate, so it can dim invisibly or start flashing, while still holding something like 40% efficiency for power -> lumens.

those the 10-0LED t8 replacements?
I'm going to grab a few of those for the laundry room once I can afford it- if they do well, compared to 6500K t8s, I'll convert some more of the common space lighting to it.
