I'm so waiting for this to happen at work. A common e-mail thread:

Us: Your server is running SP0 and hasn't seen a reboot in 839 days. It's out of security compliance and needs a rebuild.
Them: No, it's a production server that runs (site), and we can't have any downtime.
Us: Your server is a DL740 G1 out of warranty with no replacement parts in the data center. YOU NEED TO REPLACE or when your shit goes down, it's dead.
Them: No can do, it's running (stuff).

I suspect Amazon had similar idiots that were too short-sighted to realize that it's not a matter of if it breaks, but when.
